Professor Peter Somogyi has been awarded The 2011 Brain Prize of Grete Lundbeck European Brain Research Foundation

Many congratulations to Professor Peter Somogyi who has been awarded The 2011 Brain Prize of the Grete Lundbeck European Brain Research Foundation.
The award of 1 million euros is shared with Prof Tamás Freund and Prof György Buzsáki for their "wide-ranging, technically and conceptually brilliant research on the functional organization of neuronal circuits in the cerebral cortex, especially in the hippocampus, a region that is crucial for  certain forms of memory". Professor Somogyi will be presented with the award in Copenhagen in early May.
