Rizwana Rashid

Classroom and Research Technician

My role is to set up and manage Pharmacology practical classes for both undergraduate and MSc students. Undergraduate classes are based in the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre, MSc classes in the departmental classroom. I liaise with teaching staff and demonstrators in the running of these practical classes and provide technical support.

Another part of my job is to maintain, advise and assist users with items of communal equipment -  for example autoclaves and purite water systems -  and any day to day problems involving them. I also arrange service visits for these in conjunction with Paul Adams.

I am the point of contact for disposal of hazardous chemicals which I itemise and dispose of via the  University Safety Office system.
