Dr Khan grew up in Manchester and qualified in medicine from Liverpool University. He has had a distinguished career as Director of the Diabetes Trials Unit at The Mayo Clinic, former President of the R&D Centre of the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, and Vice-Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer of PepsiCo. He is currently CEO of The Hevolution Foundation which has a global interest in the science of ageing and improving healthspan.
