Engineering and Facilities Workshop Manager
I am a skilled precision engineer, with the ability to manufacture and repair bespoke research equipment, including offering advice on the suitability of design and materials following discussion with academic or research staff.
I also provide a variety of other occasional services including basic woodworking, pipefitting, mechanical fault-finding of laboratory equipment, installation of laboratory benches/cabinets, erection of shelving and decorating.
I work with other facilities staff to provide hands-on support in the event of unplanned events such as flooding or loss of electrical power during normal working hours, and am part of the Departmental out of hours on-call rota, acting as primary key holder for the building, attending site and liaising with University Security Services as necessary.
