Welcome to the Pharmacology Research Staff Society
The Pharmacology Research Staff Society aims to provide a positive and supportive environment for all research staff within the department. The society aims to foster collaboration between groups, provide networking opportunities (both within the University and with Industrial partners), support career development, and provide an informal space for researchers to interact through regular seminars and social events.
If you would like to get involved in the society please contact us.

Social Events
'Pairing' scheme for new members of the Department
The pairing scheme aims to link new members with someone more experienced who can act as a source of general support and help 'new starters' settle in to the department. Frequency and format of meeting can be decided by each pair and are intended to be relatively informal and are intended to provide opportunities to meet new people outside of your group/research field.
The Society pairing scheme is based on the ‘college advisee’ system for graduate students which aims to provide a source of general, not field-specific, support, on matters such as
- time management,
- managing relationships with academic colleagues and supervisors,
- pastoral support,
- advice on grants/fellowship applications, and
- general encouragement.
If you would like to be involved in the society pairing scheme (either as a 'new starter' or more experienced member of the department) please contact us
