Heidi Crook

My role plays a central role in the management of the Department, working with the Head of Department and the senior management team to determine Departmental strategy, taking responsibility for implementation of strategy and undertaking major Departmental projects. I have oversight of the effective and efficient day-to-day non-academic management and administration of the Department, supporting its academic mission and enabling the responsibilities of the Head of Department to be fulfilled.

As head of the professional services staff, I manage teams in personnel, finance and grants, student administration and teaching, communications and public engagement, and building and facilities staff.
I also also work closely with peers from other departments within the Medical Sciences Division.

I also have responsibility for overseeing Departmental expenditure, as well as financial management of the Department’s substantial portfolio of externally-funded research projects, and am involved in the development of the plans to support the long-term sustainability of the operations of the Department, physical and financial asset management, capital planning and prioritisation, and business plan development.
