The Department has been successful in its application for a Silver Athena Swan award, presented by Advance HE. The award recognises improvements that we have put in place to create a fair and inclusive environment for both staff and students and the impact of the Athena Swan activities we have put in place so far. The award is valid until May 2027 and the Department’s AS Self-Assessment Team will now start work on the action plan that formed part of our application. Fran said, “I am delighted that our vital work on inclusion and equality has been recognised and look forward to seeing the exciting actions planned for the next five years coming to fruition. My thanks to all of you in the Department who have contributed to this success.”
